Aiden sat there behind his big oak desk in his office at the precinct and stared at the phone he had set down just moments ago. His mother had been calling him to inform him of a visit one Lydia Van Helsing had made to the ER concerning a severely sprained wrist. Of course they both knew the cause of that sprain that she had given to the nurse was probably bogus, it wasn’t like she would just up and tell them that her low-life, good for nothing boyfriend was abusing her. Everyone else around her saw it, even if she thought they were oblivious. But Aiden had had enough of watching her stay in such a atrocious relationship… especially since he had figured out she was carrying his child and not this Marcus guy’s. Of course she hadn’t told him the truth yet, which he was pretty pissed off that she hadn’t, but that took the back seat for the moment… he needed to get her away from Marc before the guy snapped one day and murdered her or something. Looking at the clock Aiden stood up and grabbed his shoulder holster, slipping it on before shrugging into his jacket. There was no way he would be getting anything done today if he stayed at work, so instead he stopped by the office of his of his next highest officer and told him there was an emergency that had come up and he’d be unavailable for the rest of the day. It wasn’t even noon yet, he knew Lydia would most likely be home and that her douchebag of a boyfriend would most likely be at work. The bastard better be… Aiden needed to have this conversation privately with Lydia and he’d probably do something illegal to the man if he were stupid enough to be home. His staff had learned quickly not to mess with him when he was in one of his moods, and the guy, Alan, picked up rather quickly that Aiden was in one and just nodded not even asking what was up. Thank the Lord for small favors because he really didn’t feel like trying to come up with a lie that could be easily be uncovered in his line of work. As he got to his cruiser he pulled the keys from his jacket pocket and used the key fob to unlock it and slid in. He’d gotten rather fond of the car already, a newer model dodge charger like those from the Transformer movies. Aiden ran a hand roughly through his slightly overgrown hair in one of his agitated gestures causing it to stick up a little wildly, then reached down and slid the key into the ignition. It came to life with satisfied growl before Aiden shifted it into reverse and expertly backed it out of the parking space and left the lot. Honestly he still didn’t know exactly how this was going to go. He hadn’t exactly thought it through… all he knew was there were obviously still some major sparks between him and Lydia, if the other night after dinner meant anything. They probably would have ended up having sex on the living room couch if Lydia hadn’t stopped things from going farther. Just thinking about that night had him running his hand through his hair again. He shouldn’t have let her leave… he should have confronted her that night and insisted she stay there with him and Lena. After all, it was where she belonged. He stopped as the light in front of him turned quickly from green, to yellow, to red in a matter of seconds and just sat there for a moment thinking. He knew it probably wasn’t a good thing for him to just bust on in guns blazing, but he also knew this was more time sensitive for him to take a softer approach. He needed to get her out of there… today if everything went right. After what seemed like an eternity the light finally switched from red to green and Aiden went another two blocks before turning right into the apartment complex. Having had taken her home once or twice he knew exactly where to find her apartment. As he pulled up into a parking space he happened to catch a glance at himself in the rearview and flattened his unruly hair before turning the car off and getting out. As he locked the door he suddenly had one of those nervous tingly feelings and honestly he didn’t know what it was he was more nervous about… confronting Lydia, or hearing her admit the truth out loud. Aiden sighed and shook out his hands before walking up the stairs to her apartment… waiting a moment and then knocked loud enough that she would hear him from whatever room she happened to be in. "Lydia, you in there?" He asked through the door, though he tried his best not to be too loud in case she had nosy neighbors. Aiden

She didn't know what else to do. Her entire world was just a whirlwind of chaos and emotion, throwing everything off balance and threatening to destroy everything she had built. She didn't want to be with Marc, but no matter how she said it, he just didn't get the picture... or, rather, he downright refused to get it. When she'd come home just a few nights before, her lips still blazing from another man's kiss and her body still yearning for Aiden's touch, she thought for sure that he could sense it. He may not have known what she'd done, but he certainly knew who she'd been with. As usual, he called her all sorts of names, tearing at her with insults and accusations that were unfounded and entirely unnecessary. She'd tried to leave. She'd tried to tell him that it was over, but what did that bring her? A slap in the face and a trip to the hospital with a sprained wrist from their struggle. Of course she fought back. She always fought back and tried to defend herself, but what good did it do? Sometimes it just made him even more angry. He made the usual promises on their way home from the hospital. He was sorry, he didn't mean it, he didn't want her to leave, they were meant to be together, he loved her, he would change for her and the baby... She'd heard all many times before. He was starting to sound like a broken record. She just wanted out. That's all she'd really wanted since the first time he'd raised his hand to her. It wasn't like she'd ever felt much for him anyway. He was just supposed to be her distraction from what she really wanted. Ignoring and avoiding Aiden hadn't really been intentional on her part. Sure, she may have run off after what happened the other night, but it was only because she was scared to death of what Marc would do. She should have told Aiden the truth right then, but she hadn't. Revealing to someone that her boyfriend was physically and psychologically abusing her caused her nothing but embarrassment and shame. She knew she needed to get out of there. She wasn't going to raise her son in such a toxic environment where he was in danger of being beaten by a man that wasn't even his father. She'd debated on just leaving, but Marc would find her, she was sure of it. Standing in front of the bathroom sink and rewrapping the ace bandage around her sprained wrist, Lydia wanted nothing more than to cry... but she'd already done so much of that. She was tired of crying and worrying about what Marc was going to overreact about next. With only a week until her due date, she knew that time was running out. She needed to tell Aiden and Marc the truth. Though she feared how Aiden would react, she at least wasn't afraid that he would hurt her. No... Aiden would never hurt her and she knew that. She trusted him more than she had ever trusted anyone else before and she loved him. The moment they'd shared nights before only served as a reminder that he still felt something for her as well. If you walked into the apartment, there was little to suggest that there was a baby on the way. Lydia hadn't bought anything big, not wanting to feel too tied to the place if and when she left. Marc had been promising to finish the nursery for months, but as usual, his promises meant nothing. She didn't mind him breaking this promise at all though, considering the baby wasn't his. Walking down the hall to the living room, Lydia intended to refold the baby's clothes for probably the millionth time. Being so close to her due date, she'd already taken her leave from work just a few days before. She didn't even make it to the couch, where Calypso was curled up on top of the baby's clothes, before she heard the knock on the door. She froze ate the sound of his voice, feeling as though someone had poured an icy bucket of water over her head. Running her hands over her rounded belly, Lydia felt her heart seizing like it always did at the sound of his voice. Even the baby seemed to pick up on this and she felt a sharp kick, as if he were telling her to get over there and answer the door. She was hesitant though. What if Marc came home early and found Aiden in the apartment? God, he would kill her. Then again... would Aiden let him? This was the same guy who beat the shit out of someone just for tugging on her shirt and exposing her bra in high school. Finally working up the nerve, Lydia headed toward the door, her heart pounding in anticipation. She couldn't keep this secret from him any longer, but she was terrified. Unlocking the door, Lydia pulled it open, her brows drawn together and her green eyes taking in the sight of him. "Shouldn't you be in work?" she asked him, worried. Just the same, she stepped to the side to let him in and shut the door behind him as she worried over why he might be there. Lydia

Aiden leaned against the doorframe as he waited for her to come answer the door. A door opened a little ways down the hall and a woman's head peeked out, obviously he hadn't been enough. He smiled and waved at her letting his jacket fall open enough to show off his badge and gun. The woman's eyes seemed to widen a little and she retreated back into her apartment. Aiden couldn't help but laugh inwardly and shake his head at how God awful people were at snooping and such nowadays.
His head turned back to the door as he heard the lock click as it unlocked and then there she was, holding the door open. Why was it that she always had to look so damn good? It made being pissed off at her a little difficult... but at the same time it made it ten times easier. Someone as beautiful as her deserved a hell of a lot better than what she was getting with that SOB Marcus. Remembering that, he barely smiled at her as he walked inside.
His eyes took in a quick sweep of the of the room, it was filled with baby things which was normal considering but it lacked those happy couple photos people tended to have plastered on the walls and sitting on tables and shelves to show everyone how happy they are. A huge part of him was actually relieved at this... he didn't think he could stomach staged photos. Aiden looked back at her as he turned to her, taking in her ace bandaged wrist obviously from Marc grabbing it too roughly. "Yes, I should be... but I apparently have more pressing things to attend to." He told her in response to her question. He was doing his best to keep calm.
"I think you should be the one to fill me in on what they are though." Aiden added in a tone that made it obvious he already knew the things she hadn't told him. He crossed his arms over his broad chest and looked at her, waiting for her to come out with it. He needed to hear her confirm everything out loud. "I know what you're thinking so I'll help you out... yes I already know the things you've been hiding. I just want you to admit them out loud." Okay... that came out sounding more like a dick than he had intended but still... she had been covering up the fact that she was being abused and had intentionally not told him that he was the father of her child... which she was due to have within the next week. That would have been quite a shock if Lena hadn't helped him figure it out a while ago. He'd only kept quiet about it because he had been waiting for Lydia to tell him. And he was determined that she still do just that. Aiden raised an eyebrow at her as if to tell her he was waiting.

His demeanor did nothing to comfort her as he walked into the apartment. Her heart just about dropped and she blanched at his words when he turned to her. She couldn't deny it. There was not point in doing so when he already knew. He was angry with her and she didn't blame him whatsoever.
Shame washed over her and she averted her gaze, wishing she could just disappear. Her eyes were already starting to sting, but the last thing she wanted to do was cry. "I wanted to tell you..." she said quietly. Her heart was starting to race and her face flushed as he put her on the spot. "I... had a feeling I was pregnant before I started seeing Marc, but I didn't know for sure until after. He found the test and thought the baby was his, but he just wouldn't listen when i tried telling him the truth."
Setting both of her hands on her protruding stomach, she finally met his intense gaze. It was clear that she was holding back tears and it was difficult for her to continue. She hadn't acknowledged any of this aloud... Aiden being the father, the abuse... she'd kept it all locked inside, torturing herself with it day and night. "I was trying to get a hold of you, I swear, but when Marc found out that I was trying to get in touch with an ex boyfriend..."
She didn't want to come right out and say it, humiliated by the very thought as the tears brimming her eyes spilled over and started streaming down her cheeks. It felt like her heart was starting to crack and she wiped at her own tears, her hands shaking. "I didn't want to keep it from you, I promise, but he terrifies me. It kills me to admit it. I feel weak and useless. The baby hasn't even been born yet and I'm already an awful mother. I've been so scared of what he'll do when he finds out the baby is yours."
Unable to stand any longer, Lydia sat on the couch, practically on the edge, as if she wasn't even comfortable just being there. "I tried breaking up with him, I tried leaving... he just won't let me!" God did she feel sick. How could she let things get so bad? "I've been so afraid of what he'll do to me or the baby. I just didn't know what to do or where to go... or who to go to. I hate him." Her crying was uncontrollable now, but crying to him was probably the one thing she'd needed all along. "I was an idiot for ever getting involved with Marc in the first place, but he didn't seem so bad at first and I just needed someone to take my mind off of you. I'm so sorry." When she looked at him, there was pain and heartbreak in her distraught eyes. "I understand if you hate me, but I never meant to hurt you by not telling you about the baby."
Lydia stopped, waiting for him to yell at her, like she thought she deserved. Her hormones didn't exactly help with the wave of emotions crashing down on her right then and there.

Aiden was completely ready to give her some tough love for everything. She had knowingly kept the fact that he was going to be a father from him after all. But once she started crying all his resolve was lost. He'd never been very good at consoling crying women, especially not on the job as an FBI agent he had always left that to some of his other colleagues when he could. But Lydia was different... he couldn't just coldly stand there while she was obviously having a meltdown and her being hormonal didn't help that. It was when she said she understood if he hated her that he finally let his arms fall from across his chest.
With a sigh he grabbed the box of tissues from the table and walked around it to sit beside her. Aiden handed it to her before wrapping an arm around her and pulling her to him. "I don't hate you, Lydia... I'm just really pissed that you didn't tell anyone what he was doing to you. You know that you have an army of people that will help you out at a moments notice and yet you were ashamed of letting them know that that douchebag was hurting you? They all knew, or suspected at least but they couldn't do anything unless you came to them and told them. Aiden told her, as if reminding her that she was never alone in what was happening to her. "You're right, you WERE and idiot for getting involved with him and sticking around once you realized he wasn't the good guy he made himself out to be... but he's the bigger idiot thinking he can get away with all the shit he's done to you." He added as he pulled her head against his chest and ran his fingers lightly through her hair. God it felt so good just holding her to him.
"You aren't staying another hour here. I'm going to help you pack your things into my police cruiser and you're going to stay with me and Lena. Just imagine the look on her face when she comes home and sees you and your stuff." Aiden said, pulling her back away from him to look into her green eyes. It was funny, but the entire time he had lived in Virginia he hadn't been able to date any women with green eyes and that was because he would have thought of her every time he looked into their eyes. "Come on, before the asshole comes home and I have to do something un police-chief like... like beating the shit out of him like he deserves.

Lydia had expected him to be angrier. Taking the tissues from him, she tried to dry up her tears, but they were still flowing nonstop. They briefly worsened when he put an arm around her and pulled her against him, not because he made her feel worse, but because he made her feel safe. Why hadn't she told him sooner? She knew that he would have been there in a heartbeat and not just for her, but for their baby as well. She should have trusted that he wouldn't have let Marc touch her again. Instead, she'd allowed Marc to intimidate her into silence, endangering both her and the baby she was carrying.
She'd allowed Marc to isolate her and pull her away from her friends and family. Aiden was right; all she had to do was tell someone. He was the only one who really made her feel safe though and she was honestly happy that he was the one who finally decided that enough was enough. And to think, if Aiden hadn't come back to Leighton, she probably would have let it continue a lot longer, whether she wanted to admit that or not.
Resting her head against his chest and allowing the sound of his heartbeat to soothe her, she relished in the feel of him running his fingers through her hair. Being with Marc had never really taken her mind off of him. If anything, being with Marc had only made her think about what she was missing out on even more. She could feel the weight of her secrets lifting off of her shoulders and, for the first time in months, she felt like she could actually breathe again. It felt amazing to finally outwardly acknowledge that she was pregnant with Aiden's baby and not Marc's. God, she didn't know if she could even stand the idea of having Marc's baby. He just repulsed her so much.
She let out a tearful laugh, her tears slowing as she pictured the look on Lena's face. It was going to be like a dream come true for her. Looking back into his eyes when he pulled back, she couldn't even begin to express just how she felt right then. Relieved and grateful didn't even begin to cover it. She honestly wouldn't mind Aiden beating the shit out of Marc, but the last thing she wanted was for him to face serious repercussions because of her. She couldn't deny that this man was her hero. He always had been, ever since they were children. "Okay..." she said, without a single argument as she got to her feet. There was no reluctance or hesitation there. She wanted out and Aiden had every right to ensure the safety of his unborn son.
Of course Lydia was worried that Marc would come home in the middle of them packing, but she would rather him come home to such a thing while Aiden was there. There was no way he was stopping her or laying a hand on her then. Before she could even go off to start grabbing her things, however, Lydia stopped and grabbed hold of his tie, pulling him toward her for a short, but passionate and tender kiss that left her lips tingling and craving more. Now wasn't the time though. They only had so long before Marc would be home from work and she wanted to be long gone by then. Still, she'd needed that brief kiss, so full of apologies and promises for what was in store for them now that the truth was out in the open. "Thank you..." she said softly, gazing up at him and releasing her hold on his tie, her hand now resting on his chest. She could feel their baby kicking, as if to tell them "let's go!"
Pulling away from him, Lydia led him to the bedroom where she pulled out her suitcase and started throwing her clothes and things into it. Mostly everything in the apartment was Marc's, a great deal of her own things having been put into storage because the asshole said there wasn't room for any of it. That just made it easier for her to leave though. It took maybe an hour of rushed packing for them to have all of her things together, along with any baby clothes and such. With Calypso in her arms, Lydia stood by the door, scratching the cat behind her ears. The cat looked just as ready to get out of there as her, honestly. She never liked Marc to begin with and he was constantly trying to get Lydia to get rid of her. "I would say that we should set the place on fire now, but i don't think the landlord and other residents would appreciate that..." she commented, biting her lip.

Aiden stood with her, ready to grab all her stuff and get her out of there as quickly as possible... so of course he was only slightly taken by surprise when she grabbed him by his tie and pulled him to her for a kiss. He didn't need any coaxing to kiss her back though. No one could ever say that the chemistry between them had disappeared over the years, it had actually gotten stronger if that were even possible. When she finally pulled away and said thank you, her hands on his chest he couldn't help the devilishly handsome smile that crossed his face. "My pleasure, we should do that again sometime... just maybe not right now." He said trying to lighten the mood.
As she went about packing things, Aiden did his best to help her out... though at one point while he was grabbing her shampoos and stuff from the bathroom when he came across a bottle of nair. A grin broke out across his face as he took it and began pouring it into lotion he knew wasn't Lydia's and into Marc's shampoo as well. He laughed to himself when he was finished and made a point of taking the now empty nair bottle with him so the bastard wouldn't know what the hell was happening to him. After that he went about finishing grabbing her things and tossing them into a box with some other stuff.
Once they were finished and were looking over the apartment one last time, Aiden finally pulled the empty nair bottle out of his pocket at her words. "Well... he's already going to have a horrible day when he takes a shower and goes to yank himself off later. But if you want to make things a little worse... we can up end all the furniture." He told her with an obvious wink. He was definitely going to enjoy running into Marc later with hair missing all over his body.

Lydia's jaw dropped and her eyebrows rose in an expression of giddy shock when he showed her the empty Nair bottle. "You didn't!" she gasped, her heart just about soaring. Aiden had always had a way of making people pay for what they'd done. Just thinking about what was in store for that rotten bastard made a bright smile cross her face. He was getting off light considering what he'd put her through.
"I think I'm satisfied enough... wait, no I'm not, give me a second," she said, handing Calypso to him. From the freezer, she grabbed a few raw chicken breasts and even a fish. Pulling them out of their packaging, she then proceeded into the living room where she unzipped the cushions on the couch and shoved a piece of chicken into each one. As for the raw fish... that she took into the bedroom and shoved under his mattress. Finally satisfied and knowing that is would take him forever to find the source of the smell once the chicken and fish started to stink, Lydia washed her hands and went back to Aiden, taking Calypso once more.
"Now I'm satisfied," she said, smiling at him and heading out the door. They had always been quite a devious and troublesome pair, always getting into trouble and causing trouble together. In all fairness though, Marc had it coming.
When they pulled up outside of Aiden's house and carried her things inside, Lydia set Calypso down to explore. She would admit to being a little anxious. Yes, she felt free just being away from Marc, but it would be stupid to think that he was just going to leave it at that. Biting her lip and setting her hands on her over grown belly, she gave Aiden a bit of a worried look, her brows drawing together.
"What if he comes looking for me and shows up here?" she asked him. Was Marc stupid enough to come to the Leighton Police Chief's house? Probably. Okay, definitely. Her concern wasn't just for herself though. She was worried about dragging Aiden and Lena into this as well. Then again, Aiden was apart of this no matter what considering the baby was his. Still, Lydia didn't like the idea of putting Lena at risk in any way.
She knew she was going to have to get a restraining order and she had to find some way to tell Marc that the baby wasn't his. If he continued to think that the baby was his, he wasn't going to just back down and leave her alone. Of course she felt safe there with Aiden, but she couldn't help but wonder what might happen if he showed up when Aiden wasn't there?
Outside, a school bus drove past the house and, moments later, you could hear the sound of footsteps coming up the front porch. When the door opened, Lena stood there with suspicion in her eyes, backpack slung over her shoulder. She'd spotted the first clue that something was up when her school bus drove up and she saw the police cruiser outside. She knew her father was supposed to be in work.
"What's going on?" she asked, her eyes flicking from Lydia, to Aiden, to the bags of Lydia's things, then finally to the cat who was roaming around cautiously. "Are you moving in? If this is a joke, it's not funny, guys."
"I left Marc," Lydia said. Just those words felt incredibly amazing on their own.
"Really?"
"Yes."
"And the baby?" Lena asked, still not believing it.
Glancing at Aiden, Lydia felt a great deal of comfort now that he knew the truth. "The baby is your dad's..." she said, eyes returning to the fifteen year old who was still standing by the door. Lena dropped her backpack on the floor, eyes narrowed.
"Really?" she asked.
"Really," Lydia repeated.
"Is this an April Fool's joke?"
"Lena, it's November," Lydia arched a brow and her lips curved upward into a smile.
The screech that echoed through the house was deafening and scared Calypso so badly that she went scrambling for cover. Lena threw her arms around Lydia, not even trying to conceal her excitement. "Oh my god, I told you!" she said to her father, still hugging Lydia.
"I have a ton of nursery ideas saved on Pinterest for you! Oh my god, we have to start baby proofing the house!" Pulling back, Lena was starting to talk faster, something Lydia had grown used to over the years. "We have to start clearing out dad's office. He doesn't need one anyway, right dad? I was already measuring it for the nursery."
"Really?" Lydia asked. "I mean, I knew you were suspicious Lena, but damn..."
Lena just shrugged her shoulders. "It didn't take a genius to figure it out once I found out your due date. Did you really think you two were being slick when you slipped away from the anniversary party? EVERYONE knew where you went."

Aiden sat the last box of Lydia's things on the couch and looked around at the others they had already brought in. It gave him quite a bit of satisfaction knowing that she would now be safe there with him instead of in that assholes apartment. The house itself had been one that until recently had been the residence of an old couple who Aiden swears was alive back when he was a kid... even back then they were ancient from what he could remember. It had taken him and Lena weeks to finally get rid of that "old persons home" smell and it was finally beginning to smell like a normal home.
"If he does he's an idiot and just asking for trouble." Aiden told her as he unabashedly looked through the box he had brought in. "If he ever stops by here when I'm not here call me and I'll be right here and stay inside unless that is impossible." He added looking up at her from a photo of her cat Calypso. Lydia had always loved cats, as far back as he could remember he had memories of her bringing home the strays that she could catch and convince her father to feed them. It was only fitting that she was a veterinarian.
As he heard the sound of the school bus driving past Aiden looked from Lydia to the front door, which opened only moments later to Lena. He would have asked her how school had been but it was obvious she was going to cut straight to the chase. He didn't even bother answering her questions though as Lydia seemed to be doing such a fine job at it already. Aiden did find it humorous though that Lena was being so skeptical about it when this was what she had been trying to push them towards the entire time anyway. When she finally believed them it was like someone flipped a switch and she was suddenly too excited to stop and think first before she started talking.
"She made an entire power point presentation on it Lydia. She even had one of those laser pointers so that she could point out specific points of her research." Aiden said laughing a little. When Lena got something in her head she was bound and determined to do it. "Come on lets, help her put this stuff away so we can have dinner. Then you can show us what all those nursery ideas and whatever else you probably found on pinterest." He added already picking up the box he had set on the couch.

Lena was bouncing with every step as she picked her backpack up from where it was just sitting in front of the door, bobbing her head as her father explained her powerpoint presentation to Lydia. "I already told everyone in school that I'm going to have a baby brother," Lena said to them as she set her backpack on the couch so that she could help them with Lydia's things. "Now listen, I can babysit, but I'm not so sure about changing diapers..."
Lena was going on about everything all through dinner, showing Aiden and Lydia everything she'd found on Pinterest. For the entire rest of the day, all she did was talk and talk. Someone else might have been annoyed with the teen, but Lydia was always willing to listen to her, no matter what. Besides, Lena's excitement over becoming a big sister helped to distract her from things that she really didn't want to think about at the moment. Not only that, but Lydia was finally able to experience her own, genuine excitement over the baby. Up until that point, her excitement had been so muddled by fear and stress. Not that that was completely gone. When Lena finally exhausted herself into falling asleep on the couch, her laptop on her lap and open to Pinterest, Lydia took it from her, closing it and setting it aside as Aiden gently woke her to send her to bed. The teen was practically sleep walking and Lydia was sure she heard her walk right into the frame of her bedroom door.
Standing in Aiden's bedroom now, Lydia didn't have Lena to distract her from the worrisome thoughts that were on her mind. Wearing one of Aiden's tee shirts, a little stretched over her belly, and a pair of pajama short shorts, she had her cell phone pressed to her ear. Peering out through the blinds of the window, she was worried that the bastard was going to show up and try to start shit. Listening to his voicemails, she knew that was exactly what he wanted to do.
His messages ranged from apologetic to threatening and angry. With each one that she listened to, she could tell from the slurring of his words that he was practically drowning himself in alcohol. Lydia knew as well as anyone that he was a million times worse when there was alcohol involved. He wasn't an alcoholic, but he was still an even bigger douche when he was drinking.
Listening to his messages was only stressing her out and she knew it. She had to pull the phone away from her ear when she was listening to the most recent one, his yelling so loud that she was sure she might go deaf in her right ear. There were about a million texts from him as well, but she didn't bother reading a single one. "Is the front door locked?" she asked Aiden when he came in, biting her lip and feeling a little ridiculous. She was sure that Marc was probably passed out by now and she hoped he would choke on his own vomit.

Aiden walked back into the living room from checking to see that Lena actually made it to her bed and was under the covers, she had been half asleep walking to her room he had half expected to see her laying on the floor instead of her bed. He looked around for a moment and spotted Calpyso laying on the back of the couch and walked over to the cat, scratching her behind the ear. Aiden himself was more of a dog person but he wasn't that kind of guy that thought owning a cat made you less masculine. He had half the mind to pick her up and take her into the bedroom with him purely for Lydia but decided to let the cat do her own thing, being in a new place and all.
After another moment he started turning off all the lights and headed into the bedroom. Aiden paused for a moment though, listening to the man raging on the voicemail Lydia was listening to. Not for the first time he was glad that he had gotten her out of there. When he walked into the bedroom he walked over to her and took the phone from her hand and went into her settings. "Yes, the windows are locked too if that helps. You need to stop listening to these voicemails Lydia." He said even as he was blocking Marc's number from being able to call her. It was the only way he knew he could protect her from the emotional abuse the asshole clearly loved putting her through.
"There, he can't call or text you anymore... you should delete all those voicemails and texts though... worrying about that bastard isn't good for either of you." He said handing the phone back to her and pulling her to him at the same time. Aiden wished very much that he had given in to James' attempts at getting him to stay nine months ago... but of course they couldn't change things now. As much as he wished he could Aiden couldn't undo the fact that Lydia had been in such a horrible relationship all because she had been trying to keep her mind off of him. He kissed her forehead and rubbed her back a little, trying to get her mind off of that bastard and instead on the fact that she was safe there.

Lydia didn't protest when Aiden slipped the phone from her hands and blocked Marc's number for her. For once, she was going to listen to him without protest. She knew that he was trying to look out for her and the baby, so for once she was just going to let him. With Aiden there, Marc couldn't touch her and she knew that from experience. He'd always been her protector... and, whether he realized it or not, her hero. She could clearly remember just how much she'd looked up to him when they were children.
"Yes, sir," she responded when he told her to delete the voicemails and texts. Taking her phone back, she set it down as he pulled her to him and her heart swelled as he kissed her forehead. This man had no idea how much she loved him and had always loved him. She'd always regretted not having fought harder for him and not going after him. That didn't matter now though because she was right where she belonged. Sure, things hadn't panned out as she had planned or hoped, but he was back and wherever he planned on going in the future, she was going to follow him.
Being in Aiden's arms felt just as natural as it had all those years ago. Hell, it felt natural the other night, before she'd put a halt to what they were doing and run off. She didn't have to hide how she felt anymore though... not that she'd done such a great job of that anyway. Still, she didn't need to care about how Marc was going to react now and she didn't have to fear being caught.
She couldn't help but sigh as he rubbed her back and she leaned against him, resting her head on his chest and closing her eyes. He was doing the best he could to get her mind off of Marc and he was doing a damned good job of it too. Even his scent was helping her to forget the fact that her abusive ex-boyfriend was out there, drunk and furious with her for packing her things and leaving. She briefly wondered how their friends and family would react to this turn of events... something told her that they wouldn't be all that shocked.
"You know what might make me feel better?" she asked him, her tone of voice a bit more teasing and playfully as she pulled back to look at him. "I think putting on your badge might help..." She flashed him a pretty smile, not the least bit hesitant to give him everything she had to offer. After all, she'd always been his. Marc was nothing more than a speed bump in her life. "And it has nothing to do with how sexy your badge is, I swear."

"What?" Aiden asked as she asked him what might make her feel better. Just by her tone of voice he knew that she was already forgetting about those messages and voicemails she had gotten from Marc and he was honestly relieved. Her response though had his pants suddenly fitting a little uncomfortably tight. Lydia definitely knew just how to get his attention that was for sure. There was no denying the fact that sex between the two of them was always a mind blowing experience, and he doubted that had changed at all with her being pregnant... if anything it'd probably be even more so.
His eyebrow went up as he looked at her, a mischievous look on his face as he looked over to the night table where his badge rested, beside it also lay his gun in his shoulder holster. Aiden had seen how she looked at him when he was wearing them... his grin broadened even more. Instead of walking over there and grabbing his badge though, he started undoing his tie, pulled it off and then deftly undid the buttons first on his vest then stopped, looking at her with heat in his eyes before shrugging out of it. Aiden had never thought about how erotic it could be to undress for someone but as he pinned her with his gaze and began undoing the buttons of his shirt as well... well that just made his dick harden that much more.
He finally shrugged out of his shirt then reached behind her and picked up his handcuffs off the dresser. "I'll put it on... but first you should disrobe and climb onto the bed and lay on your back." Aiden told her as he dangled the cuffs in front of her. It wouldn't be the first time they used them during sex. He was determined to put Marcus as far out of her mind as possible and he knew just how to do it too. Aiden let his eyes trail down her body before looking back into her green eyes and raising his eyebrow again at her as he waited for her to undress and do as she was told. Aiden had never given much thought to how pregnant women looked naked but God did he want to see Lydia naked, her stomach swollen and protruding with their son inside of her...

Lydia watched him process her request and the mischievous look on his face certainly didn't escape her notice. The moment he started to undo his tie, her breath hitched and she bit her lower lip. She stepped back just the slightest bit to watch him as he finished unbuttoning his vest, her own body starting to buzz and tingle in response. When Aiden paused to look at her, his gaze steady and intense, a wave of desire and arousal crashed over her, heat searing between her legs. He had her pinned with his eyes, but the way he looked at her was so electric and fiery that she could practically feel his body against hers already, even though he wasn't even touching her.
A blush crept across her face as he shrugged out of his shirt and her green eyes unabashedly soaked in the appearance of his bare chest. Lydia had seen him bare-chested many, many times before, but she'd never been able to get enough of him. She was never going to be able to get enough of him either. A chill went down her spine when he reached behind her for his handcuffs and she could feel his body heat just rolling off of him. More than ever, she wanted to touch his bare, muscular chest. And his tattoos... God, his tattoos... just the sight of them made her a little weak in the knees, her mouth suddenly dry and her eyes hungry to see more of him. There was a fire burning within her as he dangled the cuffs in front of her, taunting and teasing her.
"Whatever you say, Captain Blackwell," Lydia responded, though it took a great deal of self-restraint to keep her hands to herself. It was probably the second time in Lydia's life that she was shy undressing in front of him. The last time she'd been bashful about such a thing, she was a teenage girl about to lose her virginity, self-conscious about the fact that a boy had never seen her entirely naked before. Now, she was a twenty-nine year old woman who was nearly nine months pregnant and afraid that she looked like an elephant. That didn't stop her at all, but her face was flushed as she pulled off her tee shirt that she'd stolen from him.
She wasn't wearing a bra beneath it, having taken it off when she'd changed. Despite whatever reservations she had about her own naked body at the time, she looked at him and held his gaze as she slipped out of her shorts before climbing onto the bed. Entirely exposed to him, she followed his orders and laid on the bed, propping herself up on her elbows. Lydia may have felt like an elephant, but she was anything but, having gained nothing but the rounded belly throughout her pregnancy. Her breasts were a little larger and fuller, as was expected. That was all normal for a pregnant woman. What wasn't normal were the bruises and it was safe to say that they also partially accounted for her being a little bashful. They were mostly on her arms and wrists, some fading while others were a little more fresh. Marc had given her a black eye once, but had been smart enough to not leave any marks on her face after that. He never once hit her in the stomach, probably fearing that she would lose the baby he thought was his. He did push her into the kitchen counter once, but she'd caught herself before she hit it.
Her gaze followed him and every move he made, her excitement only increasing, wiping away any thoughts of her bruises or feeling like an elephant. She was trying not to squirm from the pleasurable sensation of arousal flowing between her legs and through her abdomen. "Are you going to read me my rights?" There was a broad smile on her face and she was only half joking. Laying there, entirely exposed to him, she was more comfortable than she had ever been with any other man. Was she supposed to feel weird about having sex while this far along in her pregnancy? Cause she definitely didn't feel the least bit weird. If anything, she felt a heightened sense of arousal, more intense than ever before.

Aiden stood there and watched as she undressed in front of him, first her shirt... which she had stolen from his dresser, fell to the floor on top of his own his eyes found her bare breasts quickly. And then his gaze slid to her hands as she pushed off her shorts and let them fall to the floor around her ankles. He watched the little bit of clothing fall then started back up her body from her feet as she moved to lay on the bed as he had ordered her to do so. Just the fact that she did it with little hesitation turned him on even more. Aidens eyes left her for a moment as he picked up his shoulder holster and removed the gun, placing it in the drawer before pulling it on and pinning his badge to the leather strap. He usually wasn't one for roleplaying... but if she wanted him to wear his badge then he damn well would.
Aiden looked back at her then and moved to the bed. He gently took her right wrist, mindful of the bruises she sported and lifted it above her head and clasped one of the wrist cuffs around it. Then he reached over her and did the same with the other, though he wound the chain of the cuffs around the pole in the bed frame directly behind her. He did make sure that there was enough slack though that the cuffs wouldn't chafe her skin. His eyebrows went up as she rather sexily asked if he was going to read her her rights. "No, sweetheart, because I don't intend on telling you that you have the right to remain silent when I'd rather hear you scream my name." He told her his gaze raking over her from head to toe, admiring how she was laid out for him.
His pants were now unbearably tight and he thought nothing of undoing the button and zipper and letting them fall at his feet, allowing his shaft to stand at attention and show off the fact that he had been going commando. Aiden gave her a sexy grin as he plucked a feather from the decorative vase Lena had put together for him and climbed onto the bed to straddle her without actually touching her... Starting from her ankle he trailed the feather against her sensitive skin up over her stomach but then paused as he noticed the baby's foot pressed up against her stomach, then watched as he moved again.
Any other man would probably been weirded out by the fact that they were going to have sex with a woman while the baby was fully capable of moving while they did so... but God did it turn him on more. The fact that this woman was carrying his child in her stomach and that his son was moving while he was there with her... it was sexy as hell in his opinion. Aiden bent and briefly placed a kiss to her stomach where the foot pressed up enough to show a clear outline, then began tormenting her with the feather again. Where the feather went, he kissed a trail behind it.
